The Artist CIX 


CIX is a modern contemporary artist making his pieces entirely out of Rubik's Cubes. Since 2008 he has been the front-runner in evolving the new art movement of Rubik Cubism worldwide. CIX mainly focuses on portraits, Whether it being a sporting icon, Famous celebrity or someone close to you in your life. CIX also does pieces to include landscapes, animals, and architectural and corporate logos. CIX has recently started performing interactive pieces where the public can join in and help complete the works or simply have fun playing with the variety of cubes on show.


CIX has exhibited in galleries in the UK, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai, and will be exhibiting in New York soon. His pieces have been sold in England, Europe, America, Asia, and the Middle East, with private commissions produced for individuals, English Premier League footballers, and International Corporations and art collectors alike. He holds many artists in admiration and inspiration. Among them are Andy Warhol, Banksy, and Roy Lichtenstein.

“This Portrait of Elton John was made using a total of 999 Rubik Cubes.


This portrait was inspired by my first collection “Icon Divas” which I made back in 2008. To celebrate the success since I decided to go back and explore designing famous portraits of recognizable Icons in their genre.


This piece really defines the effect of the gradient method and how to make key features pop out using Rubik's Cubes. This method was originally inspired by the culture of Pop Art and has evolved massively since the early pieces I made back in 2008.
